Artemis Eleftheriadou is an Associate Professor at the Arts and Communication Department at Frederick University, Cyprus (dac.frederick.ac.cy//en/). Her research focuses on contemporary artistic practices and interdisciplinary visual communication. She holds degrees in History of Art from Goldsmiths University and Visual Communications, UK. Eleftheriadou is the editor and creative director of the International Association of Photography and Theory (IAPT) Press since 2018. She has authored a number of articles in international art publications and art directed/edited a selection of contemporary art publications. As a curator she handled a number of exhibitions and projects that took place in local and international venues. Her most recent publications include the book chapter The Dig, The Fragment, and The Archive: The Archaeological Imaginary in Greek-Cypriot Contemporary Art in Contemporary Art from Cyprus, edited by Stylianou E., Tselika E., Koureas G., Bloomsbury, UK, 2020 and Visual Infotainment in the Political News: A Cultural Approach in the Post-truth Era(co-author), MedieKultur, SMID, Denmark, 2019. Recent projects include the artists’ book Cyprus: Island of Aphrodite II, by Stylianou-Lambert T. and Lambouris N., (editor/creative director), IAPT Press, Cyprus, 2020 and the international exhibition and publication ThAr(t)chaeoloy Project: Intersections of Archaeology and Photography, IAPT Press, Cyprus, 2019 (co-curator, editor/creative director). Eleftheriadou has also been overseeing numerous design projects for over 20 years in collaboration with private and public agents and clients.
